Job Details
• Assist with grinding and inspecting parts for paint preparation and non-conformance • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook • Read basic drawings • Assists with grinding and inspecting parts when needed • Inspect parts for non-conformance • Clean and wash parts for painting • Applies primer and/or paint using an electrostatic wand system, ensuring high-quality coverage according to customer specifications • Perform thorough daily cleaning and preventative maintenance on paint equipment • Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times • Participates in continuous improvement efforts • Ensure proper protective equipment is worn at all times and tools or other equipment are properly used base on the task • Follow control document procedures • Regular in-person attendance is an essential function of this job

Requirements


• Thorough knowledge of the standard tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of a powder coat painting process and have knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of working in a shop fabrication environment • In-depth knowledge of the properties of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, aluminum, and stainless • Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement continuous improvement strategies and document best practices • Maintain technical and product knowledge for all equipment used within the assigned area of responsibility • High level attention to detail • Understand the operation of an electrostatic paint wand system • Aptitude in math to convert fractions and decimals • Read tape measure • Works well as part of a team; gets along well with others • Flexible and willing to incorporate new/different tasks as directed • Must be able to read, write and converse fluently in English with the level of competency that will permit the applicant to function in the position. Examples of job duties that require a high level of English fluency are: Collaborate with engineers and project managers and take instruction from the department foreman or Lead painter
